Jane has 40 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. She received her undergraduate training in Ontario and worked with children and families as an ECE, a Kindergarten teacher and as the director of a private school. Jane then became interested in adult education and turned her talents to the training of early childhood educators. She obtained her Masters in Education from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax and subsequently became the Executive Director of the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education (formerly St. Joseph’s) where she serves as the administrator and as a faculty member.

Janet is the Registrar of NSCECE. She is also responsible for the recruiting and marketing of the College. She teaches part time in the ECE program and provides financial counseling to students. She is an integral part of the College and is readily available to help students with various requests for assistance.

Carrie coordinates the resource centre and organizes professional development activities and resources for the early childhood community in the Halifax Regional Municipality. She is readily available to help students, faculty, and community members with materials to enhance and support their learning and practice in the field of early childhood education.
Carrie also works for the College by coordinating practicum placements for NSCECE students.
Child Care centres that are interested in hosting a practicum student and Early Childhood Educators interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a practicum advisor are also invited to contact Carrie at the above number or drop her a line via e-mail (resourcecentre@nscece.ca)

Nicki is a full time faculty member at NSCECE. She teaches first year and second year students in their core courses of curriculum, child development, and special needs. Nicki has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Child & Youth Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University. She is committed to the ongoing professional development of early childhood educators and has a variety of experience teaching adults through the delivery of courses and workshops in a variety of contexts. She has worked in inclusive settings for over 15 years and believes that every child has the right to participate no matter what their ability.
