NSCECE’s job fair is happening this Wednesday, January 25^th! Students and centres will have a chance to introduce themselves to each other between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. here at the college.

Night courses are starting up again for the semester this evening! This winter NSCECE is offering Child Growth and Development, Emergent Curriculum, and Administration and Management. Also starting this week, the Resource Centre will again be open until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

NSCECE is dedicated not only to educating our students, but also to helping those already working in the ECE field continue to learn and grow. To this end, we are as usual offering a series of workshops this winter. They cover a wide variety of topics, from movin’ and groovin’ to thinking deeply, and are geared towards ECEs at all stages of their career, whether just starting out or more experienced. Check out the schedules for our evening and Saturday workshops at the links below, and come in or forward to cheque by mail to sign up. Update from the road! Every fall universities, community colleges, and career colleges tour the atlantic provinces to recruit students for their programs. The tour is called AARO. This week the tour takes us to Moncton, NB. This is NSCECE at Bernice MacNaughton High School.

Students are here and classrooms are full! It is exciting to see so many eager to work in this amazing field of ours – early childhood education. What better way to prepare students to nurture and support children’s development but to allow them the experiences of a child. This term we will be getting dirty and re-living those wondrous childhood years as we build with blocks, dig deep into sand, create with clay and get joy from exploring loose parts. What better way to recognize the importance of play in a child’s development than to play and reflect as students. .
