NSCECE was a sea of pink last Thursday as students, faculty, and staff showed their support for Stand Up Against Bullying Day. One of our core values here at the college is that everyone will be made to feel welcome, comfortable, and included; no one will be discriminated against for any reason. These are the values we want instilled in the children our students will be caring for after they graduate, and the most effective way for the children to learn is by the positive example set by their teachers. This means it is incumbent on us as a learning institution to start the process of paying it forward by teaching these less concrete lessons to the future teachers along with the classes given on early childhood practice. We’re pleased to see from the support shown for the fight against bullying that the lessons seem to be sinking in.
