Dear 1st Year Student:
I am pleased to welcome you to the 2019 – 2020 academic year at Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education. You have chosen a program with an excellent reputation whose roots go back nearly 50 years to the beginnings of early childhood education as a profession and academic discipline in Nova Scotia. The faculty, staff, and I hope you will find this year engrossing, stimulating and challenging. You are entering a professional program that will challenge and change you profoundly over the next two years. Below you will find some information to help you prepare for your first year of study.
Please note, you will not be able to begin this program without the Child Abuse Registry, Character Reference Letters (2), and the Vulnerable Sector Check completed and submitted to NSCECE by August 1, 2019.

College is open to students for registering, paying tuition, purchasing textbooks and taking ID photos. Please bring your SIN number with you to register. IDs will not be released until student fee of $125.00 is paid.
International students will need to bring their study visa and co-op work placement documents. |

CampusLogin which allows you to view your profile, communicate with instructors, see your grades and attendance, and print tax forms and transcripts.
Textbooks are approximately $ 700.00 for the year
. If you are waiting for student loan money, you will need to secure interim financing to pay for books. Textbooks will not be issued without payment.
Practicum Requirements: An e-mail will be sent to you from myBackCheck.com to complete the required vulnerable sector check. Also, there is a required practicum package that must be purchased before you begin the practicum modules; the cost is $40.00.
If you are paying by Canada Student Loan, please bring your student loan status report.
If you are being sponsored by a 3rd party (i.e., Service Canada), please bring your signed contract.
Please note, NSCECE is a scent aware institution. Due to allergic reactions, we are also nut free.
