A Few Words About Carrie
Carrie Melsom is an early childhood educator who began her career in early learning and child care in 1986. She has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Certificates in Adult Education and Non-Profit and Voluntary Sector Management. She is a past chair of the Nova Scotia Child Care Association and received the Edward Jost Child Care Centre Legacy Award in 2011. Carrie has worked at NSCECE since 2005. She coordinates the Resource Centre and organizes professional development activities and resources for the early childhood community in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Carrie also coordinates practicum placements for NSCECE students. She is readily available to help students, faculty, and community members with materials to enhance and support their learning and practice in the field of early childhood education.
Child Care centres that are interested in hosting a practicum student and Early Childhood Educators interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a practicum advisor are also invited to contact Carrie.
